Tiger golfers capture tournament win

The Douglas High girls' golf team closed out the regular season with a big win Monday afternoon, capturing its home tournament by 15 strokes.

"It was a great day," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "It was good to win the last match heading into regionals. We need all the momentum we can get against the High Desert League powerhouses like McQueen and Spanish Springs."

The tournament win marked Douglas' third of the year and propelled the Tigers to second in the overall Sierra League standings.
