Pedestrian injured in early Sunday morning Stateline accident

A California man was injured when he was hit while crossing against the light on Highway 50 in Stateline early Sunday morning.

Nevada Highway Patrol investigators are seeking witnesses to the accident that occurred at 1:23 a.m.

According to the preliminary investigation, a dark colored SUV, with unknown vehicle registration was traveling westbound on Highway 50. Pedestrian Philip Preston Parsons, 25, a resident of Santa Rosa, was traveling south to north in the marked crosswalk. The crosswalk is located in front of the CVS pharmacy next to the Montbleu Casino.

The vehicle continued west into California without stopping to render aid.

The road was closed for about 4 1/2 hours.-Parsons was transported to Renown Medical Center via Care Flight with non-life threatening injuries.
