Betty Peterson Wasick, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep September 16, in Gardnerville, Nev. She recently moved to Nevada to be closer to her children. She had lived in Palos Verdes, Calif. for over 30 years. Betty was born August 9, 1925, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Irving and Mabel Bakke Peterson. Betty had a long and successful career in accounting at Hughes Aircraft. She served as president of her local chapter of PEO International which is devoted to the education of women, and was also very active in the Methodist Church. She traveled extensively all over the world including Russia and China and was a passionately competitive bridge player. Betty frequently entertained and was the life of every gathering.
She is survived by her sons, Bradley Wasick of Minden, Nev. and David Wasick of Glenbrook, Nev.; as well as 3 grandsons, Tyler, David and William. A celebration of life will be held at her home in Minden on October 5 at 4 pm. Call Carol for directions 775-720-4608.
