The Douglas girls' golf team won its second Sierra League tournament of the seasons Tuesday afternoon at Wolf Run Golf Course in Reno.
The Tigers shot a team score of 363, just ahead of second place Galena at 367. Manogue was third at 391, Carson finished fourth with 393 and Wooster was fifth at 421.
"As a team, we played great," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "It was a huge improvement over last week's score. The kids hit a lot of greens in regulation and made a lot of pars.
"A couple of our kids had eagle opportunities and just couldn't capitalize on them."
Sophomore Koko Terada won the individual tournament for Douglas, shooting a 77.
Molly Jordan was sixth at 90 and Emily Gosselin was eighth at 93.
Mari Pimental shot a 103, Megan Welch came in at 104 and Kristen Greenhut shot a 121.
"Koko was the only player to shoot in the 70s," Gustafson said. "Molly and Emily continue to be solid No. 2 and 3 players for us."
Douglas will next host a league tournament at Genoa Lakes on Tuesday.
"They are excited to play the course," Gustafson said. "We've been playing a lot and have been practicing playing a longer golf course. We will be moving the tees back next week in preparation for regionals and hopefully state. Instead of 5,200 yards, we will be adding almost 600 yards to the course.
"This does make it more of a challenge, but the kids are up to it. Genoa Lakes has been wonderful. In cannot thank the staff enough for all their help."
