The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating two Gardnerville burglaries early Monday believed to have been committed by a man and woman.
Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward.
Sgt. Jim Halsey said Tuesday the first burglary occurred at the Verizon Wireless Outlet Store on Waterloo Lane around 5 a.m. Entry was made by the suspect smashing the glass of the exterior window of the store. Two cellular telephones, phone chargers and miscellaneous currency were stolen, according to reports.
The second burglary occurred approximately 15 minutes later at the Washoe One-Stop Smoke Shop located on south Highway 395, approximately one mile south of the first burglary. Forced entry was made through the rear door. Cartons of cigarettes and currency were stolen.
Halsey said still images of a male suspect committing the burglaries were captured at each location.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, mid-20s to early 30s, medium height and build, wearing a beige-colored baggy collared shirt, black or dark blue baggy denim pants, and black baseball cap with large white logo on front, and white tennis shoes.
Investigators believe the man was accompanied by a female accomplice. Images of the woman were caught on a surveillance camera at a nearby location.
Halsey said the woman is described as Caucasian, mid-20s to early 30s, medium height and build, wearing a halter top, black Lycra-style stretch pants, and white tennis shoes.
The woman has a tattoo on her upper right back/rear shoulder blade which appears to be a vine with multiple branches and leaves. Halsey said she has a tattoo on the back of her neck which appears to be two lines of writing.
The suspects are believed to be driving a newer model black Dodge Avenger or similar vehicle with Nevada plates.
A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
