Volleyball: Reno sweeps Tiger spikers

The Douglas volleyball team fell to Reno High School in Reno Tuesday night, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22.

Shawnee McFadden led the Tigers with 10 kills and 10 digs and Katie McCullough had five kills, two aces and a pair of blocks.

Shelby Van Winkle chipped in four kills to go with nine digs, 13 assists, two aces and five service points.

Kristina Barnum had five kills and two digs and Bailey Gansberg had nine assist in the loss.

Douglas dropped to 5-9 overall on the year and 1-5 in Northern Division I action.


Douglas defeated Reno 14-25, 25-19, 15-11 Tuesday night.

Nikki Hamada had four aces, Amanda Weaver, Savannah Allmett and Worley each had two and Galloway, Fielder and Brown each had one.

Hamada had nine service points, Weaver had four, Allmett, Fiedler and Brown each had three, Worley had two and Galloway, Saletti and Schmidt each had one.

Emily Schmidt led the attack with seven kills, Johnnie Saletti had five, Brown and Allmett each had three, Lutz had two and Worley had one.

Hamada had 12 assists and Weaver added eight as Douglas improved to 10-2 overall on the year.


Douglas defeated Reno 25-8, 25-14 on Tuesday.

Shannon Leiss had eight aces and a kill, Sophie Byrne had four kills, Tierra Henry had three kills, Lizzy Byrne had five aces and a kill, Cassie Hergenrader had a kill, Macie Harjes had a kill, Emma Sperry had an ace, Kaycee Battcher had a kill, Aubrey Caires had two kills and Sarah Carter had a kill.
