East Fork, Tahoe Douglas firefighters respond to South Lake structure fire

East Fork firefighters are headed to a reported structure and wildland fire at 3120 Pioneer Trail.

According to dispatchers, firefighters responded to a residence on fire about 5:55 p.m. Shortly afterward, the roof of a neighboring home also caught fire, which spread to nearby trees.

Numerous explosions have reportedly been heard in the area.

Firefighters are reporting that two live power lines are down, one of which landed on a fire engine.

Tahoe Douglas firefighters have committed several engines and a ladder truck as well.

East Fork is sending at least an engine up to South Lake Tahoe while another engine covers a Tahoe-Douglas station.

The fire is located between the cross streets of Edna and April.

Emergency crews are evacuating people from the area.
