As of Thursday, only two Douglas County residents have taken their own lives in 2012, a far cry from 2008 when there were 23, and Douglas County led the nation in per capita suicides.“I still run into people who ask why there were that many suicides,” said Debbie Posnien, director of Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County. “You never really know why.
