Students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, got a sudden swimming pool courtesy of heavy rainstorms that flooded the parking lot near Tropicana Avenue.
The University reported flooding has subsided on Maryland Parkway between Tropicana Avenue and Flamingo Road, Harmon Avenue between Swenson Street and the Lied Library.
Automated rainfall sensors reported 1.3 inches fell in spots of Clark County, with thunderstorms moving at 5-10 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The southbound lane of Interstate 15 near Moapa north of Las Vegas was closed due to flash flooding at 3 p.m.
Las Vegas is under a flash flood watch until 6 p.m. tonight as heavy rains move off to the east.
