Louis "Lou" Ianni of Jackson, CA, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 in Jackson, at the age of 75. He was born on Center Street in Jackson, CA on July 15, 1937 to Enrico and Louise (Bertolotti) Ianni. Lou graduated from Jackson High School in 1955. While in school he played tennis, baseball and one year of football. Lou rivaled against his close friend, Manual Rameriz, who played for Calaveras High School. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid golfer. He played centerfield for the old Wells Fargo team and never missed a ball. He would meet his buddies every Sunday to play golf at the old 6-hole Jackson Golf Course. Lou married Marlene Oliver on September 28, 1957 in Reno, Nevada.
Lou was a heavy equipment operator for Cal Trans for 23 years retiring in 2000. In 1980 he moved to Woodfords and lived there for over 29 years. Lou moved back to Jackson in 2009 to be near family and friends, he loved being home again. Lou is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Ianni of Jackson; daughter, Vicki Foster and her husband, Ron, of Dayton, NV; son, Kenneth Ianni of Jackson; sisters, Josephine Rector of Sutter Creek, Rosemarie Ferretti and her husband, Allen of Sutter Creek; brother Hank Ianni and his wife, Jeanne of Angels Camp; grandchildren, Christina Randal and husband, Chad, Brian Foster, Kevin Foster; great-grandchildren, Rylee Randel and Peyton Randel; aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
