Connie Sue Schulte identified as victim in Washoe Valley crash

Gig Harbor, Wash., resident Connie Sue Schulte, 62, has been identified as the person killed in an accident on Old Highway 395 in Washoe Valley.

According to the NHP, Schulte was traveling southbound just before 6 p.m. Monday on Alt. 395 just north of Bowers Manson in a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. The crash investigation details so far indicate the Volkswagen crossed the northbound lane, over corrected re-entering the southbound lane before leaving roadway edge and striking the embankment on the east side of Alt US395. The vehicle then struck a wood fence and overturned. The driver was wearing her seatbelt.

The driver sustained fatal injuries at the scene. The highway was not closed for the collision.

Trooper Douglas Hildebrand of the Major Accident Investigation Team or M.A.I.T. is investigating this case. Witnesses or anyone with additional information to the event are encouraged to call him at 775-721-1747 regarding case number 120828211.
