Firefighters respond to several storm calls

Update: Two instances of arcing power lines have been reported as a result of winds in the Valley. Firefighters are at 1523 County Road and at the intersection of Stockyard and Heybourne Roads for reports of arcing power lines in trees.

NV Energy has been called for both instances.

A single tree fire has been reported on Hot Springs Mountain. Light to moderate precipitation is falling around the Valley. A thunderstorm with rain and lightning started rolling into the Pine Nut Mountains around 9 p.m.

A red flag warning is in effect starting at 11 p.m. for thunderstorms.

A number of lightning strikes in the Pine Nut Mountains east of Carson Valley have prompted fire calls to the east Valley.

No fires have been spotted yet, and moderate precipitation is falling in the Pine Nuts.

A lightning strike has been reported on Hot Springs Mountain. Also a power line is sparking into a tree limb on County Road in Minden.
