As part of a joint fundraising effort, Carson Valley Community Theatre presents "Radio Memories at the Ranch," Aug. 18-19.
The play takes the audience back to a day in 1940s radio, with the comedy, drama, mystery and adventure of "The Lone Ranger," "The Bickersons," "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and more. Proceeds from this event benefit both the nonprofit Carson Valley Community Theater and the Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch. Prior to the performance, ticket-holders will also have the opportunity to see a special exhibit in the Dangberg ranch house, with a display of artifacts and documents from the 1930s and 1940s.
Tickets for each event are $30 per car, and each ticket admits up to six people who arrive together in the same car, truck or SUV. Vintage automobiles are encouraged.
Gates will open at 3:30 p.m., with the performances at 5 p.m. Wine and beverages will be available for sale, but ticket-holders can also bring their own picnic.
The audience must bring their own lawn chairs or blankets, as no seating is provided. Pets, with the exception of certified service animals, are not permitted. These are outdoor events.
Tickets for both productions are available now and must be pre-purchased in Gardnerville at Battle Born Wine, 1448 Highway 395; Joyce's Fine Jewelry, 1503 Highway 395; Plant It Nursery, 1346 Centerville Lane; or The Entertainer, 1426 Industrial Way. Tickets can also be purchased in Stateline at Events, Ink, 152 Highway 50.
