Ranch Rodeo completes 2012 edition

The Minden Ranch Rodeo Buckaroo Fest completed its 2012 edition over the weekend at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Smith Valley's Quarter Circle 3 won the top team honors for its work over the weekend. Team members included Mike Johns, Russel Funk, Tyson Torvic, Clint Elegrea.

Minden's Dakota May won the bronc riding event with a score of 75. Joe Aguiso was second (68), Andrew Krumm was third (66) and Noah Nelson was fourth (65).

Smith Valley's Julianne Funk (4.85) and Renee Funk (6.00) took first and second in women's steer roping, followed by Oly Fowler (6.3), Kim Bunn (6.41), Cari Norcutt (6.87), Josey Wortman (7.02) and Sparky Cleveland.

Dave Thacker, of Fallon, won the ranch horse event, followed by Tyson Torvic, Manuel Azevedo, Steve Felton, Chad Edgemon, Jimmy Lee, Rosco Rhodes, Todd Gansberg, Bryson Massini, Chase Wortman and Dan Coverley.

In the team competition, Fallon's Rafter C (Gary Capurro, Colt Capurro, Steve Felton and Maynard Victore) took second and Bridgeport's Centennial Livestock (Marcus Bunn, Todd Gansberg, Matt Hussman and Todd Sceirine) was third.

The Young Guns (Austin Carraso, Trevor Carrasco, Kaleb Ennis and Chase Wortman) and Sweetwater (Tod Radelfinger, Brian Hansen, Bryson Masinni and Ty Marriot) were fourth and fifth respectively.
