Flash flood warning issued for Pine Nuts

Update: The next set of storm cells traveling through the Pine Nut Mountains has prompted a flash flood warning from the National Weather Service.

The warning was issued at 5:28 p.m. after radar indicated a thunderstorm 13 miles east of Johnson Lane moving west at 5 mph. Heavy rain from the storm will affect the west slope of the Pine Nuts, with runoff possibly reaching upper Johnson Lane.

The warning is in effect until 7:30 p.m.

A 100-acre brush fire is burning in the Pine Nut Mountains about seven miles east of East Valley Road.
