The Dresslerville Athletic Club will host the 44th annual Cal-Neva N8V Softball Classic tournament at Centennial Sports Complex in Carson City this weekend

Three divisions of up to 16 teams each will compete Saturday and Sunday for prize money dependent on the number of participants.

The tournament will be played under NAFA rules and it is open to all teams.

Divisions include Men's Fastpitch (team entry fee of $400), Women's Fastpitch (team entry fee of $300) and Coed One-pitch (team entry fee of $150).

The men's tournament will be double elimination all the way through with $1,000 going to the first place team and MVP and Golden Glove awards on the table.

The women's and one-pitch divisions will be round-robin on Saturday and single-elimination on Sunday.

One-pitch rules are set up so that the offensive team supplies its own pitcher and the batters receive only one pitch per at-bat.

A swing and miss, a taken pitch and a foul ball are all considered outs.

Indian tacos and fry bread wlll be sold at the tournament and a free tribute concert will be provided for the players on Saturday night.
