Affordable Care Act upheld by Supreme Court

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act by a 5-4 vote. News of the vote was issued this morning.While upholding the Affordable Care Act, Chief Justice John Roberts said that Congress doesn't have the right to order individuals to engage in interstate commerce under the Interstate Commerce Clause."In this case, however, it is reasonable to construe what Congress has done as increasing taxes on those who have a certain amount of income, but choose to go without health insurance," he said in today's decision.
