Pastor Leo Kruger of Valley Christian Fellowship has a goal - to put the American Patriot's Bible into the hands of as many people as possible.
To help reach his goal, Kruger is inviting the community to become part of the campaign.
"I have watched our heritage as a nation slowly erode and recently it has been rapid," Kruger said. "I have had enough of our Christian liberties being trampled on and lost to those who seek to remove the faith and the Bible from our history as a nation."
The New King James version of The American Patriot's Bible contains quotes and anecdotes every few pages from prominent individuals in American history.
"This Bible is loaded with quotes from our founding fathers, Kruger said. "The founding fathers, although not all were Christians, framed our nation's governing structure upon the truths found in the Bible."
With an arrangement through the publisher, Thomas Nelson, Bibles will be available for $13, and Valley Christian Fellowship will give them away to anyone who can't afford one.
"I have personally ordered one for all my grandchildren and extras to give away," Kruger said. "These are things we're not going to hear through anybody else. If we don't teach our children the truth, they're not going to hear it."
Every Bible will come with a reading plan that helps individuals read the Bible in one year. The plan starts July 4, 2012, and ends July 3, 2013.
"My goal is to have as many people in the Valley and surrounding areas reading the Bible in the same place at the same time," Kruger said.
Valley Christian Fellowship will have books available July 1 at Aspen Park during its 10 a.m. celebration.
Kruger is also coordinating several home groups in connection with the Back to Church Sunday on Sept. 16 to show the DVD series "Truth Project."
