Douglas County will receive $632,761 in federal in Lieu of Taxes payments, funding for services and improvements in areas such as education, law enforcement, health care and infrastructure, Sen. Harry Reid's office announced today.Many Nevada counties rely on the payments because they cannot collect property taxes on roughly 87 percent of Nevada's land, which is held in trust by the federal government.
