Election Day is Tuesday

Douglas County residents go to the polls on Tuesday in only the second June primary election held in Nevada history.

Clerk-Treasurer Ted Thran said he expects about 5,000 people will turn out to vote on Election Day.

About 17 percent of the active voters, or 4,429 have already cast either an early or absentee ballot in the election.

About 150 electronic voting machines will be delivered to the dozen polling places around the county over the weekend.
