If you are an ATV fan, be sure to sign up and participate in the ATV & UTV Jamboree being held between June 12 and 16. It is the only event of this type in California, and there will be four days of guided trail rides through our beautiful Sierra Nevada high country to enjoy. It doesn't matter if you are a beginning trail rider or not, so contact EasternSierraATVJamboree.com or call (530) 208-6078 for information and to register for the rides.
The roadwork at High Point continues, but it looks like there is progress being made, and so far the delays haven't been too bad when I have gone through. I am hoping to receive another bulletin from CalTrans soon, which will give a better idea of the timeframes involved. My last one said that they would be constructing retaining walls and realigning the road during the summer months, so we can probably expect delays for a while.
Meet the artist
Howard Rees, a noted local watercolor artist and teacher, will be giving a demonstration of that art at the Antelope Valley Community Center June 9, 10 a.m. There will be an admission fee of $5, and refreshments will be served after the demonstration. As a totally untalented artist, I think it would be really interesting to see his work and hear him talk about it.
This and that
I hope you all took advantage of our opportunity to vote yesterday. Since this is being written before the election, I offer my congratulations to those who won the offices for which they ran.
June 23 there will be a trout fishing tournament held in Bridgeport with goodies given to those entering, as well as trophies, prizes, and an awards dinner. Sign up to enjoy the day of fun by contacting BridgeportFishEnhancement.com or calling (760) 932-7525. Funds raised will support fish stocking in Bridgeport area
