They won't be throwing candy, and balloons won't be flying parade morning, but most Carson Valley Days traditions will continue this week, including the carnival opening this evening to special needs children and the Gardnerville street party on Friday night.Another tradition that will continue this year will be the maximum deployment by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office during the celebration.Sheriff's spokesman Sgt.
