East Fork Gallery features Western art display

In honor of the Genoa Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival, the East Fork Gallery is displaying Western art pieces through May 15.

Gallery members and consignors Barbara D'Artez, Margie Leslie, Nancy Giannini, Lee Netzel and Shawn Larum are featured.

"The Western works really capture the spirit of cowboy poetry," President Elfriede Short said. "I think Western art is beautiful. It's truly Gardnerville and Carson Valley."

Art works include bronze statues and oil and pastel paintings. East Fork Gallery is located at 1503 Highway 395, Suite G, in Gardnerville.

Along with the music and poetry, Western art is an important part of the third annual Genoa festival beginning Thursday through Sunday.

Art galleries are located around Genoa with paintings, photography, and crafts by artists from all over the West.

In the heart of Genoa, a Western mercantile tent will feature western artisans, jewelers, more artists, and western tack, along with music and clothing.
