Minden offers free Western movies

How long has it been since you whiled away a lazy Saturday afternoon watching cowboy movies?

You'll have your chance April 28 at the "The CVIC Hall Centennial Celebration Cowboy Film Festival" hosted by the Town of Minden.

Admission is free - and so is the popcorn - and you're invited to stay for all three shows.

The town is celebrating the centennial of the CVIC Hall with a nod toward the Genoa Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival the same weekend.

The movies are "Support Your Local Sheriff" at noon; "The Misfits" at 3 p.m. and "The Shootist" at 7 …
