Alpine County seeks off-highway grant money

The California State Parks' Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Division administers a grant program which has provided significant funding to help the Alpine County Sheriff's Office manage off-highway vehicle recreation in Alpine County.

The sheriff's office has completed the 2011-2012 Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation grant request, which provides for operation and support of public safety and law enforcement efforts for numerous trails and roads located on public lands open to OHV use.

The public review and comment period for the 2011-2012 Grant and Cooperative Agreement Program will run from through April 2.

Copies of the grant request are also available to the public at the Alpine County Sheriff's Office, Markleeville.
