Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with traditional dinner

Saturday, March 17, Beta Sigma Phi sorority will be holding their annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Antelope Valley Community Center in Walker. The food is always great, as are the homemade desserts and the many raffle prizes you can win. The grand prize will be a $500 Visa card. There will also be a no host bar sponsored by the Antelope Valley Lions Club. Dinner for adults will be $12, with those for children under 10 years $6. Try not to miss this fun evening.

Regional Planning Advisory Committee

The RPAC meeting will be this Tuesday, March 1. As always, there will be discussion of plans and/or ideas for the future of the Antelope Valley. The meeting starts at 7 p.m., Antelope Valley Community Center. Please become involved in the future of our area.

Two events coming

The 12th annual Antelope Valley Lions Pasture Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, April 7, at the Baldo Giorgi Ranch on Topaz Lane. If you would like more information on how to participate in this fun event, call Dave Murray (530) 495-2822, Clint Hershey at (530) 495-2935, or my husband, Mike, at (530) 495-2552.

Sunday, April 8, the Antelope Valley Lions Club will have their annual Easter Egg hunt for the kids. This will take place outside the Community Building in Walker for all age groups of kids. They always seem to have a ball searching for and finding the eggs. If your children would enjoy this, please bring them down. It will start at 11 a.m., so you'll want to be there a little early for them to get ready.

This and that

The winner of our local Student Speaker contest, Cody Clark, did very well in the contest for our zone. Unfortunately, he didn't win, but from all accounts I've heard, it was very close. Congratulations, Cody.

Coleville High's girls' basketball team won their 1-A league championship and moved on to the State tournament. They weren't the ultimate winners, but we are still very proud of them and the year they had.
