Since their first year as a co-op, the members of the East Fork Gallery have hosted a Christmas reception.
This year's 32nd annual reception is noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at the gallery in Gardnerville.
Gallery President Elfriede Short credited the community for their support and interest over the years.
"It's really a wonderful feeling that people come in and enjoy our art," Short said. "It's what keeps us going. The Valley has always supported us greatly."
The reception will feature a complete show change by more than 30 artists.
More than 100 pieces of paintings, photographs, sculptures, stained glass, fused glass, pottery and greeting cards will be for sale. Raffle tickets will be available for original paintings by Thelma Calhoun and Gerry Lawrence. The drawing will be Dec. 20.
And Short's popular hand-painted ornaments will be available as well.
What started out 29 years ago as simple birds painted on Christmas bulbs has grown into bunnies, deer and landscapes with snowmen, skiers and horses.
"When I decorate my own tree at home I have the first one on there," Short said. "Every year there are more details on them. I really put a lot of pride into my work."
The ornaments vary in size, and prices range from $17 to $35. Bring in a photo of a pet, and Short will paint it on an ornament.
After painting hundreds of Christmas keepsakes over the years Short said she wouldn't think of not doing them.
"Come September I run into people in the stores, and they ask if I've started my ornaments yet," she said.
