Minden resident BJ Fulmer is a campfire storyteller, author and artist, who inspired by his grandfather, created the book "Campfire Legends."
Fulmer will be doing a book signing and reading noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at East Fork Gallery in Gardnerville.
"Campfire Legends" is a hand-crafted, leather-bound campfire story book in which, "it's stories will take you on a journey that will lead you to think that you know where you are going, only to find out it's not what you think," Fulmer said. There are 15 short family-oriented campfire stories in each book. Some have alternate endings for the little ones, others will leave the reader laughing and some are indeed spooky.
Accompanying "Campfire Legends" is a companion book that teaches people how to be a storyteller.
"It's my desire to bring families back together again," Fulmer said. "My grandfather made sitting around the campfire an event, something that I never forgotten, and have passed down to my boys."
