The National Weather Service has issued a freezing fog advisory for tonight starting at 10 p.m. and lasting until 10 a.m. Thursday.
High pressure over the Great Basin will produce conditions favorable to dense fog in many valleys of Western Nevada and eastern California.
Forecasters warn that the fog may leave a thin layer of ice on roads and sidewalks.
The fog will develop after sunset and become denser later in the evening.
Visibility could drop to a quarter mile or less at times.
