The Carson Valley Photo Club's Take Your Best Shot show continues through Dec. 12 at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Highway 395, Minden.

More than 90 photo club members and guests celebrated the show's opening Nov. 10 with a reception instead of their regular monthly meeting, where those attending voted for their favorite photos.

The runaway winner for people's favorite was Kathy Port's “Winter Reflections,” a mirror-like reflection of a winter scene in a glass Christmas ornament.

Second place went to Dave Stewart's image of the Genoa Bar with a fresh coat of snow.

Third place went to Wendell Jenness's “Spring Runoff in Yosemite.”

The photo club meets the second Tuesday each month at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

The next meeting is the annual Christmas party potluck 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Members will show their best “humor” photos taken throughout the year.

Election of officers will take place at that meeting.
