The R-C Morning Report

School board meets tonight

Douglas County School Board trustees are meeting 5 p.m. today to discuss seeking an interim superintendent and then conducting the search to find Carol Lark's replacement. Lark's resignation becomes effective Nov. 30. Before they conduct that business though, board members are scheduled to redo the vote on Lark's resignation, in order to cure any potential open meeting law violation.

Little bit of rain overnight

We got a smattering of rain last night from the little storm, but forecasters say the big storm will be rolling in Friday night. We might see some snow down here from that, but the big story is a foot of snow above Tahoe, where Heavenly intends to open for ski season on Friday. Kirkwood says they're opening sometime between Thanksgiving and Dec. 1.

Well above freezing this morning

Today there's a slight chance of isolated showers with a high of 53 degrees. The low will dip into the 20s tonight. At sunrise, the temperature in Genoa is a warmish 42 degrees. It's 38 degrees in Minden and 42 degrees at Meneley Elementary School in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
