The R-C Morning Report

Road controls in Sierra

There are road controls in the Sierra this morning thanks to a storm that looked like it was going to fizzle and then didn't quite. Four-wheel drive vehicles won't have to chain up going over Carson Pass, but any other motorists will. Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 50 from just below Spooner summit to the state line, on Kingsbury, on Highway 28 to Incline and between Tahoe Vista and Truckee. They are also required on Interstate 80 from Truckee to past Emigrant Gap.

Rainy morning

There was a nice squall early this morning on the west side. The weather guys may have underestimated this last night. The radar is showing it held together pretty well. There's still a little bit of it coming. There's going to be some snow on the mountains this morning when the sun comes up.

Indian Hills approves rate increase

I'm told there were upwards 70 people at the Indian Hills General Improvement District meeting on Monday. After they spoke, board members voted 4-1 to approve a $17.77 increase in the new monthly water service fee from $6.39 to $24.16.
