The R-C Morning Report

Confab in Gardnerville

County commissioners are meeting with Gardnerville Town Board members tonight to discuss relations between the town and the county, the town's sphere of influence, drainage and road maintenance and the vision for economic development of the town. The session is 7 p.m. at the town's administrative offices.

Sentencing for pot farmer today, maybe

One-time pot farmer Scott David Haas, 41 is up for sentencing this morning in District Court. Senior Judge Norm Robison should still be filling in for Judge Dave Gamble. Haas reportedly had 64 marijuana plants growing in his Stateline apartment. His sentencing was delayed in September.

When's the next typhoon?

Monday's rain was certainly no typhoon, but it did leave a little extra moisture on the ground and even flocked some trees on the ridge tops. There was a report of quarter-inch hail and some lightning strikes in South lake Tahoe on Sunday evening. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 63 today. The highs will climb into the 70s during the week.
