The R-C Morning Report

Last airport workshop

The last flight of the Minden Tahoe Airport workshops leaves the terminal at Pinon Hills Elementary School tonight at 6 p.m. A lot of these have taken off without anywhere near a full passenger load, but this one is right in the heart of the Valley community most affected by the airport. After this comments will be sifted and an alternative selected by county commissioners.

Parks & Rec

Normally, there would be a lot of meetings tonight, but Genoans adjourned their regular meeting until November. The hot spot tonight is the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Commission, 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Senior Center. They'll me doing the post mortem on this summer's motocross season. Gardnerville Town Board members meet at 4:30 p.m. in the town offices. Walmart is off the agenda until November.

Looking into Kingsbury accident

This morning we'll be pursuing more information about an accident that injured four people Monday afternoon on Kingsbury Grade. When we get more about it, we'll post it.

Cloudy morning, sunny afternoon

It's going to be a cloudy morning, but should clear as the day progresses. The high temperatures will be climbing again, almost hitting 60 today and back up to 70 by Thursday. Thanks to the cloud cover, it's relatively warm out this morning with 41 degrees in Minden and 40 degrees in the Ranchos.
