I'm betting we got at least a half inch of rain on the west side of the Valley on Friday night. There were times when it was coming down in buckets. That’s going to be it for a while. The next storm isn’t expected until Saturday, and I doubt lightning will strike twice.

House cleaner up for sentencing

A South Lake Tahoe house cleaner who pawned a $10,000 heirloom wedding ring for $60 faces up to five years in prison today. Stephen Manning admitted he stole the wring while cleaning a woman’s house. He could also receive probation with conditions. The woman received her ring back, but someone had filed off the inscription that had been written in 1942 when her grandparents were married..

Vigil tonight at Heritage Park

Tonight a candlelight vigil for the victims of domestic battery will be held in Heritage Park. The event starts at about 6 p.m. Expect it to cool off fast after the sun goes down, so bring a jacket.
