The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles Carson Valley office will open Oct. 6 at a new location. The new office, at 1352 Highway 395, Suite 109 in Gardnervilles Center at Waterloo is larger and has more parking than the old office in Minden.
Were going from 3,500 square feet to over 5,000, DMV Director Ginny Lewis said. More importantly, though, weve had a hand in the construction from the first nail, so the office is specifically designed for DMV business.
That will result in better customer flow and faster service, according to Lewis. The new office also has a separate debriefing and testing room for drivers license applicants, an information booth and more service counters, all improvements over the Minden location.
The old DMV office, at 1694 County Road in Minden, will close 5 p.m. Thursday Lewis said the department will make the move Friday and open for business in the new location Monday.
Not only will our new office allow us to serve our Carson Valley customers better, Lewis said, it will give us the room to grow as the valley grows.
