Staff Reports

Sue Knight of The Wild Rose Inn in Genoa hosts Beans, Brews and Blues, 3-6 p.m. Sunday. The event features microbrew tasting, wine, appetizers and live music for a $20 donation benefiting the Carson Valley Arts Council.
Blues music will be provided by Duane “Beans” Sousa on guitar and Monique Haviland on vocals and keyboard.
Sousa played guitar for Lacy J. Dalton for two decades, co-writing and producing Dalton’s “Wild Horse Crossing.” He produced his own CD, “Into the Blue,” and was voted Carson City’s favorite musician for 2006-07 by the Readers Choice Award. Carson Valley resident Haviland plays, sings and writes pop, jazz and blues music.
The Wild Rose Inn is at 2332 Main St. in Genoa. Information at 782-5697 or 315-7777.
