The body of a 60-year-old Dresslerville man was found early Wednesday near the Carson River at the Settelmeyer ranch.
Sheriffs Sgt. Jim Halsey said the body of Russell McDonald, 60, was found near his truck at the Buckeye ditch where it feeds river water to Dresslerville.
Halsey said there was no evidence of foul play, but the death was under investigation as a matter of department policy because it was unattended.
He said McDonald was a water master for the tribe and may have been working when he collapsed.
The body was discovered about 7 a.m. Wednesday by a Settelmeyer ranch hand.
McDonald was reported missing to the Washoe tribal police on Tuesday when he failed to come home for lunch, Halsey said.
