Volleyball: Capital City Volleyball Club Wins Spring Classic Championship

The Capital City Volleyball Club’s 14 Black team captured the championship of the 33-team Northern California Volleyball Association’s (NCVA) Spring Classic March 15 and 16 in Santa Clara, California.

Comprised of 8th graders from throughout Northern Nevada, 14 Black went undefeated in the tournament without dropping a single game along the way.

Team members include Elena Charles, Sarah Lushina, and Kristalei Wolfe (Carson City); Heidi Schefcik, Hailey Sclafani, and Savannah Wood (Minden); Gabi Newman and Megan Schmauder (Reno); Megan Mize and Darby Reeder (Zephyr Cove).

The Club’s 18 Red team took 4th place in their Division, while the 15 Black team finished 8th and the 16 Red team placed 13th out of 80 teams in their Division.
