The Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported 58 contacts for domestic violence Feb. 6-26.

There were 23 verbal domestics, two mental health arrests, 19 arrests for domestic battery including two females battering males, 10 males battering females, two females battering females and one male battering a male.

Two people were arrested for violating protection orders or probation.

Three calls were unfounded.

Six cases were reported to the district attorney's office for review.

Thirty-three juveniles witnessed domestic violence over the three-week period. Three juveniles were suspects in verbal domestics; three juveniles were victims of domestic battery, and one juvenile was arrested for battery against his stepfather.

The Family Support Council assisted 17 people in requests from East Fork Justice Court for protection orders.

Seven temporary protection orders were requested with four approved, one denied and two pending.

Ten antistalking and harassment orders were requested with three approved, five denied and two pending.

Connie Richardson, sheriff's office domestic violence prevention coordinator, said the average range for contacts is 14-20 per week during this time of year. The average range of children witnessing domestic violence is 9-11 per week with juvenile suspects at 0-2 per week.
