The R-C Morning Report

Print Comment

Waterline break over

The great water line break of 2008 is over and classes resume at Douglas High School this morning. So get on the bus, Gus, ‘cause school is back in session. By the way, that Monday off will cost another one at the end of the year, according to school district official Rich Alexander.

Kingsbury battle

Lake Tahoe parents fighting the closure of Kingsbury Middle School fired another salvo, threatening legal action over radon readings at Zephyr Cove Elementary School. Zephyr Cove’s been leaking radon, which results from the decay of granite and is a big problem on the east shore of Lake Tahoe, since it was built. School board trustees meet 3:30 p.m. today, and the parents are expected to plead their case during public comment.

Change in the weather

There’s definitely a change in the weather coming, though today won’t show it much with mostly sunny skies and a high of 65 degrees. The high hit 72 on Monday, so don’t be surprised if we tack a few degrees on. Rain’s supposed to roll in on Wednesday night with a 30 percent chance of rain or snow on Thursday and the same chance of snow on Thursday night.
