Bingo Knights for Austin's House

The proceeds of tonight's Knights of Columbus bingo night will go to the Carson Valley Children's Center, also known as Austin's House. The event is at St. Gall Pastoral Center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, and is open to everyone 21 and older.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and play starts at 7 p.m. Players purchase a $20 game pack that includes a three-card warm-up, 10 games, one raffle ticket and one progressive blackout game card.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m. Knights volunteers provide free popcorn, coffee and table snacks.

Senior hearing check today

Dr. Harjes will be available to check hearing and hearing aids 10 a.m. to noon today at the Douglas County Senior Center in Gardnerville. An appointment must be made at the senior center. Information, 783-6455.



Senior trip to Reno magic show

Bus trip to see "Magic Underground Show" at the Pioneer Center in Reno today by the Douglas County Senior Center. No dinner is included. The cost is $23 per person. The bus departs Douglas County Senior Center at 5:30 p.m. and returns around 10:30 p.m. Information, 783-6455.



Michael Powers Band at Minden Park tonight

The free Summer Concert Series at Minden Park continues 6-8 p.m. tonight with the Michael Powers Band. Seattle-based guitarist Powers and his back-up group entertain with music for all ages.

The concerts in the park are presented by Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department. The Minden/Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 provides food and nonalcoholic beverages for sale, but many families bring picnic dinners. Information, 782-9828.



20-30 Truck Pull

at Fairgrounds

on Saturday

The Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club Truck Pull '07 is Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 3 p.m.

Truck pull starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, $10 for seniors and 7- to 12-year-olds, children 6 years and younger free. Information, 790-0537.



Topaz VFW, Elks serve pancakes this weekend

The Topaz Post No. 3630 VFW hosts a pancake breakfast 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Park Building on Carter Way. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Information, Burt McKee 266-4483.

The Minden/Douglas Elks Lodge hosts a pancake, scrambled egg/omelet breakfast with coffee and juice 8:30-11 a.m. Sunday, 1276 Pit Road, Gardnerville Ranchos. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Information, 265-4523.
