Stroller class for mom and baby

Print Comment

Stroller Strides is a fitness program for new moms offering a workout combining power walking and intervals of body toning using the stroller, the environment and exercise tubing. It's a great way to get in shape, meet other new moms and have fun with your baby.

A free class session is 9 a.m. Aug. 21 at Lampe Park. Raffles and refreshments will be provided.

Stroller Strides classes are 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Aug. 27. Cost is $12 per class payable by the month.

In addition to the classes, Stroller Strides offers Luna Mom Clubs with fun playgroup activities and community offerings. The classes are comprised of a warm-up and a 50-minute power walk, with stops for body toning. The program supports new mothers through playgroups, discussions and a variety of activities for both mom and baby.

During class, songs and activities will be woven into the routine to entertain baby while mom gets her workout. The program is designed for all levels, from the novice exerciser to the skilled athlete.

For more information, call the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department, 782-9828.
