Valley Bar loses first round

Efforts to rebuild the Valley Bar experienced a setback Wednesday, when the Douglas County Planning Commission denied a request to create commercial zoning on the original site, .44 acres at the corner of Centerville Lane and Highway 88. This approval was one of the first steps in the effort to rebuild the old bar. Together with local residents, many long-time Carson Valley ranchers showed up in support of the proposed master plan amendment.
