School board names superintendent candidates

Print Comment
Ten people have been named as candidates for the position of Douglas County school superintendent.

The list includes former school board member Ron Beck, who resigned to seek the position.

Also listed are Eddie K. Bonine, Debra Ann Bradley, Mark Coleman, Anna "Lisa" Fontana, David Roy Freeman, Rodney Roy Kessler, Carol Jean Lark, Richard McClements and Allen Lawrence Steen.

School Board members have set a two-hour closed session to discuss the character of the candidates for 3:30 p.m. Friday.

After closed session, the School Board will consider the list of candidates named and determine who will be interviewed.

School board consultants Huge, Hager & Associates will lead the discussion by board members to limit the number of candidates.

Meanwhile, only one person has applied for Ron Beck's vacant seat on the school board.
