Breast cancer survivor Bunco benefit to take place at Carson Valley Inn tonight

GE Energy volunteers and the Carson Valley Inn are teaming up to sponsor the Second Annual Bunco for Breast Cancer Night.

They will roll out the dice in the fight against breast cancer 7 p.m. today, at the Carson Valley Inn. More than $14,000 was raised by this event last year.

The twofold goals are to support Carson-Tahoe Hospital Cancer Services in the Northern Nevada area are:

n Purchase prosthetic camisoles and robes.

n Fund and volunteer with the Casting for Recovery program-the sport of fly-fishing promoting the mental and physical healing specifically tailored for women who have or have had breast cancer.

There will be a silent auction during Bunco for Breast Cancer Night. Donations of items or services for this effort are needed.

The success of this event will depend on contributions from businesses and individuals. To acknowledge donors' generosity. The businesses and individuals will be recognized throughout the evening.

All the proceeds collected at the Bunco for Breast Cancer Night fundraiser will be donated to the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Foundation for Cancer Services and will remain in Northern Nevada, according to event officials.

Carson Valley Inn is located at 1627 Highway 395, Minden.
