The Douglas Dolfins hosted the Pacific Region Zone Four Championships over the weekend and had several swimmers turn in dominating performances.
Rebecca Chappell, 14, claimed the "B" schedule individual high point title with 52 points in six events. She won first place in the 100-meter butterfly, the 100 backstroke, the 50 butterfly, the 100 individual medley and the 100 backstroke. She also earned 16 points in the "A" schedule with a second place in the 50 free and a first place in the 100 free.
Matt Picken, 12, also claimed the high point title for the "B" schedule with 48 points and four wins while improving his times in each of his nine events. He won the 200 free, the 50 breaststroke, the 50 backstroke and the 100 freestyle.
He also claimed titles in the "A" schedule 50 free, 100 free and 100 individual medley, good for 27 points.
Also enjoying solid weekends were Alex Picken, who recorded 46.5 "B" schedule points and improved his times in each of his eight events, Trevor Schaff with 31.5 "A" schedule points, John McRae with 42 "B" points, Sarah Koontz with 38 "A" points and improved times in seven events, Chris Bergstrom with 22 "B" points, Brea Cook with 28 "A" points and 21.5 "B" points, Kaylee Hames with 19 "A" points and Levi Grabow with 41.5 "B" points and seven "A" points.
Douglas' Taylor Brockway scored 25 points in the "A" schedule, but also turned in improved times in seven of his nine events over the weekend.
The Dolfins' Shawn Kessler improved his times in all four of the events he swam in. Emily Paulson also improved in all four of her events.
Adriana Romanowitz improved her times in seven of her nine events and Kyle Schaff earned a medal and an improved time in each of his four events. Sara Sigala improved her times in each of her seven events.
Other Dolfins turning in solid performances over the weekend were Samuel Ansel, Jesse Bunch, Jessi Cook, Becky Grabow, Julie Jones, Molly Lahlum, Amanda McRae, Daniel Paulson, Ben Sabin, Paula Sigala, Whitney Simpson, Shawn Stubnar, Racheal Tappen and Hayes Wilson.
