Firefighters knocked down a fire in a metal building on the Sleeping Elephant Ranch across from Topaz Ranch Estates.

The fire was reported at about 11:40 a.m. South County firefighters responded to the blaze from outside the building.

Rescuers from southern Douglas County responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch just east of Jack Wright Pass.

When they arrived they saw a Direct TV van blocking the westbound lanes of Highway 298 between Topaz Ranch Estates and Smith Valley.

A jackknifed truck has been cleared from Highway 50 near the Carson-Douglas line on Highway 50 near Spooner Summit.

Delays of up to 10 minutes were reported by the Nevada Department of Transportation while the accident was being cleared.

Firefighters are en route to 1136 Meadowlark Circle in Chambers Field for a report of a wildland fire.

The call came in at 12:57 p.m.

Firefighters from the Gardnerville Ranchos, Minden and Sheridan are responding.

A fire in a Topaz Ranch Estates garage at 4020 Grayhill Road on Sunday destroyed a vehicle, tools and recreational vehicles, and knocked out power to the home.

The fire in the garage owned by Matthew and Nancy Ogan was reported at 7:05 a.m.

Emergency personnel have responded to an accident on one of the curves of Waterloo Lane. A silver Honda is reported to be on its side in an irrigation ditch. The driver is out of the vehicle.
